How to Add a New Page in WordPress

As you build your website you may find the need for additional pages for various reasons. This video demonstrates how easy adding a page to your website really is and you will have your new page up in no time.

Get yourself to the Dashboard of the website you wish to change and locate the left-hand side bar menu options. Click on the dropdown arrow on the pages heading to open the pages module, then click add new page and you will be taken to the new page edit screen.

Editing

This screen will allow you to add a new page to your website. There are many options here which are covered in more detail in other videos in this series.

The most important elements covered in this video are the title, editor, and the publish section located in the right-hand side bar.

First, enter your page title in the box provided which says Enter title here, then hit the tab key or simply click your mouse on the visual editor to move into the visual editor section.

You can enter your text by directly typing it into the visual editor or you may copy and paste your content from another source if you have written your content on a separate document.

Page Attributes

If you have created this page as a sub-page of an existing page already published on your website, you can choose the parent in the page attributes box on the right-hand side bar.

Preview and Save

Once you have finished all your editing, simply click on the preview button in the publish module in the right-hand side bar. If everything looks good and you are happy with the changes, you can click on the save button located next to the preview button.

If you are ready to publish your new page, you can publish your changes for the rest of the world to see.
