Stop Punishing Your Customers Before You Have Them
Undue Customer Punishment

If you fit into any of the three categories above, we thought you might enjoy the video included below, and might want to share your opinions and experiences in the comments.

I first learned of this video when reading Matt Mullenweg’s blog yesterday. If you don’t know who Matt Mullenweg is, he’s one of the creators of WordPress, as well as other ventures. Needless to say, because we are heavily invested in using WordPress here at WP Pro Business, I like to stay up-to-date on any WP news I can.

My employment background includes working with what I consider very customer-centric companies. You can read more about that here if you like. Needless to say, I’m very aware of customer service, both when it’s good and when it’s non-existent.

This video struck a chord and does a great job of pointing out that it’s not just customer service that’s important, but how important your business’s outward attitude toward your customer really is.

Have a look at the video below and think about your own business and how you appear to your future customers. Are you unintentionally alienating them?

Anything You Want by Derek Sivers

It’s time to have an honest look at how you’re running your own business and what effect your policies (or lack of) are affecting your current and future customers.

Are you treating your readers, members, or partners with the respect they deserve?

Are you punishing them for the mistakes or missteps of a few?

We are taking this lesson to heart to make sure that we are treating you all with the utmost fairness and respect. You’ve probably heard me say this before and I don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but the plain truth is that the success of WP Pro Business would not have happened without you, our loyal readers, members, and partners.

We appreciate you and will continue to do everything in our power to be welcoming to you all and provide the best content we can in order to help you to succeed in your online business.
