Is the Property Managment Plugin for WordPress – StayPress – Ready?

I just read an interesting post from Barry over at Clearskys.net. Barry is a WordPress plugin developer who has made some great plugins, just look at this list:

  • Miscellaneous plugins – such as Author Message, Hoard Hunter and Google Ajax
  • Property plugins – such as Booking Manager, Availability calendar and enquiries form.
  • MyDashboard – the MyDashboard plugin
  • Vent – the latest Vent plugin
  • MultiDb – the WordPress MU Multi-database plugin (advanced users only).

Anyway, in his latest post, he warned that the site may show some strange behavior as he was making some changes and moving things around a bit. At the end of the post, he teased that maybe he was making room for some large plugins. Why is this interesting you ask?

I’ve been following Barry’s site for some time, and waaaaaaay back on May 14th, he announced StayPress, a collection of plugins to turn WordPress into a complete property management system. You can just imagine the doors this will open for both amateur and professional WordPress developers across the world.

More from the original StayPress announcement:

StayPress is a collection of plugins that will turn a standard vanilla installation of WordPress or WordPress MU into a property management and bookings system. Of course when I say Property, I actually mean any bookable resource of which there is a finite availability. So the StayPress system will be able to manage property rentals, hotel room rentals, conference rooms and centres, B and B’s, training rooms, bands, etc…

See what I mean? Outstanding! But is there a problem? Why has it been so long since the initial announcement? When you go to the official StaPress site, you are presented with this…

I will stay tuned, as I’m sure with his talents, Barry is a busy man.
